About MazoutMax

Radif Partners

Publisher of calculators on Belgium's official maximum price for heating oil and road fuels

MazoutMax is published by Radif Partners. It answers the question thousands of Belgian households heated with oil ask every day: what does a litre cost today, what will it cost tomorrow, and what does that mean for my next delivery?

Why this site exists

For these searches the top results are often held by sites that live off selling heating oil or passing requests on to dealers: today’s price sits next to a form asking for an address, an email or a phone number, and tomorrow’s price is sometimes announced without saying how. We wanted the opposite: the official tariff as Statbel publishes it, a delivery calculation in the right band, and an estimate whose error is measured and published.

This site does better than the first Google result because it gives today’s and tomorrow’s official maximum price read directly from Statbel five times a day, prices your delivery in the exact band without asking for an address, email or phone number, and publishes the real error of its estimate instead of an unproven forecast.

Where the figures come from

Every price comes from the official tariff of petroleum products, set by the FPS Economy and released as open data by Statbel on be.STAT. The heating allowance scale comes from the Social Heating Fund. Everything, formulas and tests included, is set out in the calculation method.

What we are not

Radif Partners is not the FPS Economy, Statbel, the Social Heating Fund or a dealer. We sell no litre, take no commission and pass on no request. An amount shown here is a calculation at the maximum price: your invoice is what counts.

Funding and data

The site is free and needs no sign-up. Calculations run in your browser and nothing you type is stored. If it ever shows advertising, it will never sit above a calculation or be presented as a recommendation.

Three languages

Every page exists in English, French and Dutch, for every household in the country and for foreign residents discovering the vocabulary of mazout, the CPAS/OCMW and the programme contract.
